“Ian,” she says thoughtfully. “This doesn’t feel like a fling to me. Not even close. I had myself convinced a fling was what I needed this summer, but then you happened. After last night I feel like, like for the first time, I know what I need and it’s no fling. I need more of you, more of this. I want to go home and grab my bags and spend my whole summer here. Oh shit, the last part did not need to be out loud. Please forget you heard it,” she says embarrassed and blushing.
“No, no. No need to forget. If not for the incredibly awkward conversation it would lead to with your dad, I would help you move your stuff, I’m just not sure I’m ready to lose my friend yet, is all,” I say, only half joking.
Sam takes a small slurp of coffee and looks out the bay window with a distant look on her face.
“Where’d you go to, beautiful?” I ask taking her hand.
“My dad. Ugh, my mom. School. I guess reality came flooding back to me,” she says with a heavy tone as if hearing her own words caused an offense.
“Slow down darlin'. Let’s take this one step at a time, OK?” I ask, fighting similar thoughts of my own. “If we talked to your parents right now, what would we have to tell them? That you took me out to pick up a woman, we had drinks, and ended up in bed together? I mean, that’s a story for sure, but what then? What does it mean? What happens from there? I don’t exactly relish the idea of keeping this from them, but I suspect they’re going to want some answers to those questions. Maybe we should know more about this ourselves before sharing it with others.”
Sam’s focus returns to me. “You’re right, to tell them now would only create unnecessary drama,” she says, nodding in agreement.
“As for school, that’s not until the end of summer. If you’re game, I say we put the future on hold for just a little while and focus on the present. I know my crews can run themselves and I’m sure they wouldn’t mind the opportunity to prove it. Let me give you a summer to remember. Are you up for it?” I ask.
The tension retreats from her face and her lips curve upward showing the subtle beginnings of a smile.
“Are you sure you can do that?”
“I’m sure,” I say with a nod.
“Then yes,” she says as she rises from her seat and wraps her arms around my neck. “I’m so excited I feel giddy.”
Chapter Nine
Sam
These past weeks have been a whirlwind. I’ve had to get damned creative here and there to keep Mom’s bullshit meter from exploding over why I’ve been a ghost and who I’ve been out all night with. And then there’s Lexi, she is probably ready to melt down seeing as I have ignored approximately one thousand texts and video calls but, is it my fault she has the worst timing in the history of communication? Besides, where would I even start to fill her in on my life? Whatever the consequences later it’s been worth it. Ian and I have had such amazing times together. He has one hundred percent been true to his word; this has been a summer to remember. It’s funny how all the touristy things I hated so much about home growing up, actually do make for great experiences when you’re with someone you love. Wait. Love? Wow, well it’s true. I mean. I thought I felt that way before, but now I know. I have fallen head over heels in love with Ian Black. My face and my heart smile at the thought.
Today is the Fourth of July and Ian wants to spend the evening together watching fireworks from the pier, but it’s a tradition our families have always done together, so everyone will be there. How is this going to work? I haven’t paid much heed to the risk of running into people we know until now. We’ve just been two more tourists out exploring the city, but tonight? That’s a different story altogether.
Morning transitions into the afternoon and I begin preparing for the evening ahead. I need to look casual, everyday-ish even, to keep my parent's suspicions low, but at the same time, I want to be alluring and sexy for Ian. As I go through my hair and face rituals uncertainty rages about my outfit, causing me to choose and re-choose a dozen times before settling on a light summer dress recovered from the back of my closet. It's peach color and floral pattern should subdue my folks, while the short cut and plunging neck leave plenty of skin exposed.
My phone dances on the nightstand and I’m almost certain it’s Lexi wishing me a happy holiday and reminding me what a shitty friend I’ve been, but I am compelled to stop and check.
I’m all too happy to be wrong when I find a message from Ian.
I.B. 5:15 PM: I want you to see fireworks tonight darlin
Confused, I tap out a quick reply.
Me 5:16 PM: Looking forward to it, but...
Me 5:16 PM: It’s going to be awkward as hell with my parents around
Before I can set the phone down to resume the fight with my hair, my phone buzzes with a reply.
I.B. 5:17 PM: Bad idea
I.B. 5:17 PM: Don’t think your dad would appreciate where I put my dick ;)
Me 5:18 PM: ???
I.B. 5:20 PM: Guess you’ll have to wait and see
I.B. 5:20 PM: See you soon
I sit on my bed curious what he meant and catch the faint smell of something sizzling on the grill outside. Holy shit. If Dad’s cooking, Ian will be over anytime. I kick things into high gear to finish my makeup and find some compromise with my hair.
No sooner have I put the last touches on my mascara and take a step back to look myself over than I hear the chime from the doorbell. Ok girl, how are we going to play this? Is this the first time we’ve seen Ian since we were home? Is it gonna be light and chatty? All, hey Mr. Black, how have you been? What’s Will been up to this summer? Or is it gonna be cold and distant with just a, ‘Oh? Hey, Mr. Black.’ And that’s it?
With zero plan in place, I grab my sandals and head down the stairs, scenarios bouncing in my head like pinballs. I turn the corner to the kitchen ready to make my surprised to see you face only to find the house empty. Everyone is out on the patio already. Ian and my dad are standing by the grill chatting and laughing while Dad flips the occasional burger, or pinches at a hot dog with the tongs.
I take a deep breath and head out to join the group.
“Hello Samantha, don’t you look lovely? Happy Fourth of July,” Ian says, nodding his beer in my direction before he resumes the conversation already in progress with my dad.
Dinner comes and goes without issue, other than my sudden lack of appetite. The mood remains light with Dad and Ian sticking mainly to themselves talking and laughing about whatever while Mom peppers me with all the questions she’s bottled up, hoping to crack the code to my summer activities. Ian plays right along and asks a question or two of his own as if interested in finding the answer himself. It only further exacerbates the situation between my mother and me and what does he do? He throws a devious little smile my way and then turns his attention to his phone tapping around on the screen.
A moment later my pocket vibrates. “As much as I’d love to continue this chat Mom, this might be Lexi,” I say pulling the phone out of my pocket. She releases a harrumph to indicate her dissatisfaction and gets up to refill drinks for everyone.
I open the message.
I.B. 7:35 PM: I want to taste your pussy
My face goes flush and I am overcome with embarrassment as if the text had been read aloud and everyone knows what it says. A dirty thought strikes me while I am regaining my composure, and I tap out a reply.
Me 7:38 PM: I want to see your cock. Send a pic
I try my level best to look at anything other than Ian while I wait for him to check his message, desperate to see his reaction. He and my dad talk about business and the markets. Mom returns with a fresh beer which he gladly exchanges for his empty bottle, thanking her for the trouble, and then seamlessly glances at the message on his phone, never missing a beat or pausing the conversation. No reaction. ZERO.
Several minutes pass and I’m in agony. Did he not like my naughty text? Did I cross some line? Was it completely immature? And then, as I sit drowning in self-doubt, he excuse
s himself and disappears inside. I want to get up and follow him in. I want to corner him and apologize, or something. Aware that might be a bit too obvious I continue to sit, mired by my thoughts only to have them interrupted a minute later by my phone.
I can’t believe my eyes, but there it is, a picture of his beautiful cock, fully erect right there on my screen. I can make out the pattern of the towels from our guest bathroom in the background of the image. Did he just take this? Is he mere feet away from me with a full erection and I can’t do anything about it? My head swirls with dirty thoughts only to be again interrupted by a message.
I.B 7:45 PM: Your turn
Me 7:45 PM: You want me to take a pic of my pussy?
I.B. 7:46 PM: No. I said I want to taste it
I.B. 7:47 PM: Come here
Chapter Ten
Ian
My brain is screaming that this is a bad idea, but my body isn’t hearing it. I want her. NOW. I pace back and forth in the tiny guest bathroom just off Rick and Lilly’s foyer waiting impatiently for my screen to light up with a response.
Knock-knock. Someone gently raps the bathroom door.
“Yeah? Just a sec,” I say, adjusting the hard on raging in my pants.
“Ian?”
I recognize the voice and pull the door back to see Samantha standing before me, my cock jumps in its place with approval. “Get in here,” I say pulling her into the cramped little space with me before I close the door.
“But, what about my parents?” she asks.
“I’ve waited long enough, it’s their turn to wait,” I say as I help myself, pulling her dress up over her waist and revealing an almost sheer-lace thong. “Oh yes, that’s what I want. Now sit back on the vanity and spread your legs,” I order.
In this moment, there’s no time for please and thank you. In this moment, I am a Viking and she is my conquest. She does as I command and I drop to my knees in front of her, intent on taking what is mine. I loop my thumbs through either side of her panties and slowly pull the delicate fabric down to fully reveal a beautiful and neatly groomed, landing strip of hair ending just above her clit. Her outer lips are closed together leaving only a sensual line between them like a secret path guiding my eyes to the honey pot. Her scent is musky, but sweet, like a vanilla sugar cookie, and it has my cock on fire. I am so hard I could cut diamonds. “I’ve been thinking about this all-day, darlin’.”
My eyes are on hers while my hands gently rub along her inner thighs, but when my tongue makes contact with her pussy her eyes roll back before closing. I slowly lick upward, ever so gently separating her lips and expanding the line between them. I work my tongue up and down, maintaining a steady pace with each lick. Gently spelling out messages to her.
You are beautiful.
You make me happy.
I love you.
As my tongue approaches the summit, I take care to relax and pause for a moment, just shy of her button and ease my index finger inside her moving it slowly, bending it back and forth in a come here motion as I resume my attention on her clitoris. Her legs begin to shake as she grabs her breasts, squeezing them, and I know she is about to pop. Steady as she goes, I remain focused on the task at hand, so to speak, and she scrambles to stuff the hand towel in her mouth to muffle her moans when she climaxes. She is still caught up in an aftershock as I rise from my knees, place my hand behind her head and pull her to me and kiss her. Her juices still cover my mouth and mix with our saliva in sweet salty perfection as she reaches for my cock.
“Ian. That was. Now it’s my turn,” she says, struggling to speak.
“But, what about your parents?” I quip. “I told you I wanted to taste your pussy and I did. Now you had better get back out there. Tell them I passed you on your way in, and that I had to run home, something about a job, and I’ll see you all at the pier later.”
Sam is perched on the vanity, her panties dangling off one foot, still caught up in the afterglow, but she tries valiantly to stop me from leaving.
“Easy, darlin’. Take your time and get your strength back. Tell your parents what I told you and enjoy your time with them. I’ll see you later. I have every intention of making sure you see those fireworks I mentioned,” I say as I gently kiss her forehead before slipping out of the bathroom and heading for home.
I walk in the front door, set my keys on the table, and head straight for the shower. I crank up the hot water and let it run long enough to steam up the room before I step in and pull the glass door behind me. My dick is so hard for that girl I’ve got to find release, it can’t wait any longer. I step under the water, take myself in my hand, close my eyes to focus on what happened just ten minutes prior and begin to stroke, slowly. My mind reflects on all the wonders of the encounter, the look of pleasure on her face. Those heavenly breasts, hidden from view but ready to spill out over the top and sides of her sun dress. I tighten my grip. Her legs shaking and her hips thrusting against my face. I increase the speed of my hand. Her moans, muffled through a towel as she climaxes. Her juices releasing and flowing freely into my mouth. Her taste. Oh fuck. Release. I put my other hand against the wall to brace myself as my body relaxes and the hot water washes all the built-up tension down the drain.
I soap up and rinse off quickly before I get out and throw my clothes back on. It’s getting late and I have a couple things to pick up from the adult store on the other side of town for later.
Chapter Eleven
Sam
My folks didn’t exactly question the story I recited, but their faces were painted with curiosity, to say the least. Either way, they didn’t ask questions and we spent the next hour or so talking about my plans after college and if I have any places I’ve thought of relocating to after graduation. Or, if possibly, maybe, there was any chance they could convince me to come back home and find a job locally. Because, you know there’s a huge demand for a business degree selling tickets at the Skywheel, or Ripley’s Believe It or Not.
Dad looks at his watch, realizing the time, and everyone seems happy to put a pin in that topic, for now. It’s got to be the millionteenth time it’s come up and it never ends well.
“It’s ten after nine. We should get a move on to the pier if we don’t want to be watching the show while we walk,” he says, impatiently.
I really wish Ian hadn’t left. What if I can’t find him? I don’t give a shit about Fourth of July fireworks if he’s not with me to share them.
Pensively, I help Mom bring things inside and put them away while Dad stands by, tapping his watch, obviously irritated by the further delay, but not nearly enough to help. Like, at all.
As we walk down the beach, Mom puts her arm through mine and pulls me close, whispering, “What has you preoccupied, love? You’re here with us, but also miles away. Are you thinking about the same thing that’s kept you from me all summer? Will you at least tell me his name?”
My face is hot with embarrassment and I’m glad for the darkness to hide the red of my cheeks. “Mom,” I exclaim.
Dad has almost left us behind before he notices and stops, impatiently waiting for us to catch up. “You darn ladies are determined to make us miss them, aren’t you?” he asks. He is a businessman and to him, time is money, even when it’s not. In this instance, I’m all too happy to pick up the pace and catch up to him because with him in earshot, Mom won’t pester me any further.
We arrive at the pier and make our way through the hustle and bustle of people to a vacant spot along the north side where Dad has determined the orientation of the pier to the beach creates the perfect viewing angle or some bullshit like that. Mom and I have known for years that sometimes it’s easier to let the man have his little victories, so we smile and nod in agreement.
While I’m up on tip toes scanning the crowd trying to spot Ian, mom’s voice goes shrill as she exclaims, “Gail! Why hello.”
What the fuck? This can’t be happening.
“How. I mean. How have you been? I. We didn’t expect to
see you here tonight. And, is this your friend? Hello, my name is Lilly, nice to meet you,” Mom says in her most polite and inviting voice.
You have got to be shitting me right now. She can’t be here. What if Ian finds us? Oh my God, what if she recognizes me as the person sucking his face at the restaurant? My brain kicks into overdrive running through all the permutations of what if before deciding that it was weeks ago and that the pier is so poorly lit and she couldn’t possibly make the connection. Unfortunately, it doesn’t do much to settle the butterflies now swarming in my stomach.
For the time being, I keep my back to the group and continue my search for Ian. The downside to the poor lighting of the pier is that I can’t make out faces more than ten feet in front of me, not leaving much room to intercept and redirect him before he stumbles into this clusterfuck.
Gail coldly introduces her date as Chaz, and proceeds to tell Mom how amazing he is, all while preventing the man from speaking for himself—further confirmation she is a bitch to everyone.
Just as I am ready to slip off into the crowd and expand my hunt, I’m stopped cold in my tracks by Dad’s voice calling to me, “Samantha, come and say hello to Gail and her friend, uh. Chaz, was it?”
Jesus Dad, why do you have to be clueless about everything?
I spin on my heel and prepare my best-surprised face, but maintain the distance between us. “Hello Gail, how have you been?” I manage.
She stares at me for what feels like five full minutes and I know I’m busted. I can feel it, shit is about to get real, and then she speaks, “Samantha, you’ve grown quite a bit since I saw you last.” Then she turns her attention back to my mother continuing where she left off.
Wait. That’s it?
Before I can return to my post, I hear his deep, soothing voice, “There you are.” In any other situation, it would send a chill of excitement down my spine. In this situation, however, excitement is not what I’m feeling. Ian emerges from the darkness, his face lit only by his brilliant smile. That is until his eyes make sense of the scene before him. In an instant his smile is gone, his slack shoulders tense up, his brow creases, and when he reaches me I see contempt in his eyes.
